Point of View

Point of View stands at the beginning of the entire trilogy. It is the place where the idea was born, and the point from which the other paintings naturally evolve. It captures the moment when the world around us seems solid and familiar, and yet, with the slightest shift, it can take on an entirely different meaning.

The hemispheres with subtle indentations are not just shapes in the rhythm of the composition. They are symbols of situations and life moments we know so well that we feel there is nothing left to discover in them. Yet, a single step aside – and color, depth, shadow, and the intensity of perception change. Not because the world has changed, but because our attitude, our attention, and the way we look at it have.

The way we perceive the world is not fixed. Every moment can take on a different meaning depending on how we feel, where our attention is directed, and how openly we approach it. The same shape can feel delicate or striking, just as a familiar situation can appear differently if we view it from another angle.

From this principle arise two separate paintings that explore different layers of perception:

Calm in Motion works with light and warmth as an inner experience – something that can manifest outwardly the moment it is perceived. It shows that the energy and warmth we carry inside are expressed in connection with the surrounding space.

Motion in Calm is a visual metaphor for quiet activity that is not noticeable, yet is real and profound. It reminds us that calm does not have to mean stillness, and movement does not have to be fast to have meaning and energy.

Both paintings are based on the principle of Point of View, with each opening a different layer of experience.

The structure of the painting reflects layers of meaning. The smaller hemispheres carry the quiet, inner warmth of Calm in Motion. The middle layer represents the subtle balance of Motion in Calm. The largest connects both poles, where calm and movement merge into a single whole. The canvas format and element sizes emphasize the fluidity of perception, showing how our attention and perspective can transform the world around us.

Together, the paintings create a dialogue about perception, attention, and subtle shifts that occur without grand gestures. The world often does not change on its own – it changes when our attitude and viewpoint change.
