Tourmaline – Vitality
The painting Tourmaline – Vitality is the eighth piece in the Eternal Gems series. It carries the energy of transformation and renewal. The dominant pink-green palette creates the impression that the tones intertwine, merge, and separate again, much like streams of life energy. Its composition features the motif of a multicolored butterfly and waves – the butterfly as a symbol of lightness, joy, and the ability to adapt, the wave as a reminder of rhythm, movement, and the continuous flow of life.
The color range of the painting is rooted in the very essence of tourmaline – a mineral capable of uniting seeming opposites. Pink embodies tenderness, sensitivity, and love, while green expresses strength, stability, and growth. Together, they create a harmony that seems to dance on the border between calm and passion, beginnings and endings. In the painting, these qualities merge into a single pulsating whole radiating vitality – the strength born precisely from balance between contrasts.
Tourmaline is a mineral with an exceptionally rich play of colors, often called the “rainbow of the Earth.” It belongs to complex cyclosilicates and forms deep in the Earth’s crust, especially in pegmatites and metamorphic rocks. It may appear as needle-like columns, grains, or radiating aggregates. It is also remarkable for its physical properties – it is pyroelectric and piezoelectric, which means that when heated or rubbed it develops opposite electrical charges at its ends. It seems to remind us that energy arises from movement, transformation, and friction – just as in human life.
Thanks to its color diversity, it exists in many variations: blue indicolite, pink rubellite, green verdelite, or the rare neon-turquoise Paraíba tourmalines. Particularly enchanting are the so-called watermelon tourmalines, in which the pink core and green rim connect like two polarities of a single being – gentleness and strength, love and stability. This is why tourmaline is considered a stone of protection, balance, and the renewal of life energy.
The painting also contains a hidden butterfly with wings formed by delicate golden leaf details. This element remains a secret revealed only to the woman for whom the work is intended, as a reminder of a unique moment. The whole series also carries a subtle trace of an invisible ninth painting named Onyx, whose story became a source of inspiration and the unseen foundation of the entire collection.
The Eternal Gems series was created as a tribute to eight exceptional women with different life paths. What unites them is not the similarity of their stories, but their ability to overcome challenges, transform their experiences into strength, and turn them into a value that continues to shine. Each painting in the series carries a unique message – just like the gemstone that inspired it.
Tourmaline – Vitality thus becomes a celebration of joy, creativity, and the courage to embrace life in all its transformations. It is a reminder that true strength lies not in stillness, but in the courage to change, grow, and rediscover joy in every moment.
